Meet Ya'ako Ibarra and Kove Photo
A guatemalan competitive rider, photographer and videographer

Hello & Welcome
My Story:
The dream of being a photographer started when I was 16 working as a groom for a Top Level Dressage rider in Guatemala. I used to take videos of all the tests and freestyles of the rider I used to work with, and started editing them.

I'm Ya'ako, the girl behind the camera!
I started getting more equipment, better cameras, more education, more projects.
Before I noticed my hard work paid off. I was able to buy a beautiful PRE horse, funded by my hard work of filming and photographing, which I gave to the rider that gave me the oportunity to ride when I was just a groom, as he had just lost his Top Level horse.
God paid me back giving me a beautiful Lusitano horse that took me to the Intermediate I level who I still have. And this is where I am, traveling, filming and still competing.
I continued working as a groom, but as I kept working, I developed a deep love for dressage, but I couldn't afford being a top level rider, until...
The rider I worked with motivated me to get my camera and film people, and I'll never forget the first show and video I took with a second-hand Canon T7.
I was selling this short videos, slowly funding my path as a dressage rider.
I had the oportunity to get amazing horses that taught me my way up to the Intermediate I level. But this couldn't be free. So I kept working harder and harder.

Thanks to this job, I was able to fund the lifestyle I always dreamed of when I was a child. And my dream is to earn up enough to give these oportunities to more kids and teens who wish to dream high, just like I did.

When I'm not with my camera, I work as a trainer in a Guatemalan Equestrian Club, I specialize with little kids, and that fulfills my heart!
